Grooming is an essential part of a pet’s life. Grooming doesn’t only ‘beautify’ your pets, it’s also a significant part of your pet’s preventive health care. Majority of pet health problems seen by veterinarians involve one way or another the skin or fur coat. Many of these problems could have been avoided with routine grooming. Many diseases of pets such as infections, parasites, diabetes, and even cancer can manifest themselves outwardly as skin and coat disorders. Therefore, grooming routinely provides a chance to inspect your pet’s skin & coat condition; hence an opportunity to discover problems (if any) early, which could, in itself, be lifesaving.
How often should you groom your pets?
A full grooming session is recommended every 2 to 3 months for pets with long coat; basic grooming every 1 to 1.5 months for both pets with short and long coat.
